Case Study: Page One in Palaio Faliro

Most agencies show you a graph going up and to the right. We would rather show you the exact search terms, the exact positions, and where the numbers came from — so you can check them.

Here is one project, in full, including the parts that did not work.

The brief

Bahama Nail Garden is a nail studio in Palaio Faliro, Athens. Manicure, pedicure, acrylic and gel work.

They had the problem every local business has: the people who want them are two kilometres away, typing “nails near me” into a phone, and choosing from whoever appears first. Being good at nails does not put you in that list.

The job was to make them appear.

What we built

Not “we did SEO”. The specific work:

  • A Greek-first website. The customers search in Greek — νύχια, μανικιούρ, Παλαιό Φάληρο. The site was built in Greek, with English as a second language rather than a translation afterthought.
  • Structured data that tells Google what the business is. WebPage, WebSite, BreadcrumbList and SearchAction markup — the difference between Google reading a page and Google understanding a business.
  • Location built into the content, not bolted on. Palaio Faliro in the page title, the description and the copy.
  • Service pages for what people actually search for, in the words they use: manicure, pedicure, gel, acrylic, spa treatments, price list, photographs of finished work.

The result

Positions recorded in Google Search Console, 14 May – 13 Aug 2026. Nothing here is estimated or rounded up.

Search termAvg. positionImpressions

The bottom three rows are one impression each. A position from a single appearance tells you almost nothing, and we are not going to headline it just because 4.0 looks impressive.

The rows worth trusting are the top three, where there is enough data to mean something.

Of those, the one that matters is nails palaio faliro — position 7.9. Not the brand searches: “bahama nails” ranking well is expected, it is their name, and ranking for your own name is table stakes.

nails palaio faliro is someone who has never heard of the business, describing what they want and where they are. That is the search that turns into a person walking through the door, and the hardest kind to win.

What this means for your business

The search volumes here are small. A nail studio in one Athens suburb is a modest market, and the non-brand terms sit in single figures. These rankings produced visibility, not a flood of traffic — anyone promising you a flood from a neighbourhood keyword is selling something.

The studio has since closed. We are showing the work because the work stands, and because the numbers can be verified.

What it demonstrates is narrow and real: given a local business and a defined area, we can get it onto the first page for the searches its customers actually type.

  • Search in the language your customers use. In Athens, that is usually Greek.
  • Tell Google what you are and where, in structured data it can read without guessing.
  • Put the neighbourhood in the content, not only on the contact page.
